REMA's initial assessment of the programme identified a number of gaps. Left unresolved would have led to the programmes failure. As a result, REMA were subsequently asked to take over the programme management in order to guarantee delivery.
During the review and ongoing programme management, REMA undertook the following activities:
- An initial review the current status of the project and the key issues and risks that were hampering progress. These were resolved within the first few weeks to allow the project to move forward.
- Delivered a comprehensive project review, identifying areas of weakness including the number of interdependencies and project management processes being followed.
- Restructured the project into a number of sub projects that could be managed better and allocated clear roles and responsibilities to team members.
- Produced detailed plans for each project that highlighted all critical activities and dependencies.
- Implemented recognised project management, reporting, issue and risk management processes
- Took over the programme management, ensuring the project was actively managed and delivered, and the relocation date was recovered.
