REMA saw the problem as an opportunity to re-organise the clients IT operation to better suit their future business needs, whilst ensuring the short-term security of the operation was not compromised. Our approach delivered the following:
- A review of the current IT Operation in terms of its people, skills, competencies, and knowledge.
- An independent view of which employees were likely to leave as a result of the relocation and the risk that this posed to the current business.
- An assessment of what the client would require from the IT Operations centre in the future, including reviewing desired structural changes and the impact of current and planned projects.
- Designed and gained management buy-in to a future organisation structure that would meet future requirements whilst providing short-term business continuity, identifying the new management structure, team organisation, and reporting lines.
- Negotiated terms and conditions with employees
- Built a migration plan that detailed all of the activities required in order to move to the future organisation, how they should be implemented, by when, and who by.
- Identified long and short term training needs, and succession plans required to support the new organisation both during and after the relocation.
- Provided an independent view and advice to senior management on a number of issues, thereby providing management with a better insight into the operation.
